S.C Suman
SC Suman is a self-taught artist from Nepal, deeply influenced by the Mithila tradition of ritual paintings passed down from his grandmother. He is also a textile designer, writer, art critic, and celebrated radio host in Biratnagar and Birganj. As a Former Council Member and Head of the Folk Arts Department at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, he has actively worked for over 30 years in developing art and artists. Suman co-curated the 2nd Karnphuli Folk Art Triennial in Bangladesh and participated in various international art events, including the Kathmandu International Art Festival and Beijing International Art Biennale. He has been honored with prestigious awards and engaged in research on regional and folk art, facilitated by Chetna Sanrakchan Pratisthan and Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. His articles on Fine Arts and Culture have been published in national publications, and he has been a speaker at numerous national-level talks and lectures.
