I Am Rooted, But I Flow

8 Feb – 8 Mar, 2025

“I am rooted, but I flow” showcases a new series of works exploring the cultural landscape and its associations by young, emerging female artists. It highlights the significance of perspective and action in shaping our life experiences, which are intertwined with our identity, culture, roots, memory, and lifestyle. Through engaging in diverse activities, individuals often discover inspiration, purpose, or joy. This exhibition celebrates art as a dynamic medium for expressing emotions and ideas, utilizing a wide range of materials and techniques.
I am rooted, but I flow draws its title from Virginia Woolf’s The Waves, where the author explores the balance between inherent stability and our ever-evolving nature. Similarly, this exhibition explores deeply rooted concepts that connect endless narratives, allowing them to unfold through the artists’ thought processes and craftsmanship. The works of Anmari Tamang, Kripa Shakya, Kripa Tuladhar, Krisha Tamrakar, Pooja Duwal, Priyanka Singh Maharjan, Sony Rai, and Sumitra Baral investigate the use of various mediums to build compelling narratives. Together, their stories invite us to navigate, rethink, and reinterpret the cultural landscape we are collectively shaping.
