Landscapes In Contrast
Exhibited Artists
Landscapes in Contrast brings together the distinct yet deeply connected worlds of Manoj and Akash, two artists whose practices explore how environments shape the way we see, remember, and belong.
Across Manoj’s collection of watercolour works, abstracted cityscapes unfold through layered washes, fractured lines, and shifting forms. Each piece captures a different facet of metropolitan life, its movement, density, luminosity, and constant reinvention. Rather than depicting literal buildings or streets, Manoj translates the emotional resonance of the city into colour and rhythm. His works reveal the city not as a fixed structure, but as a living, breathing presence shaped by fleeting impressions and restless energy.
Akash’s body of acrylic paintings, by contrast, turns inward toward the grounded warmth of rural life. Whether depicting kitchens, courtyards, household vessels, or quiet corners of Rukum, his works reflect memories shaped by routine, tradition, and generational continuity. Through earthy tones, soft light, and attentive detail, he honours the textures of village living, spaces where comfort, connection, and familiarity accumulate slowly, like stories passed down across time.
Together, their works form a dialogue between movement and stillness, exterior and interior, the expanding city and the grounded village. This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how both worlds coexist within us, shaping our sense of home and identity.
